History

CES, as it is today, has been developed over many years by people from our industry who have focused on delivering solutions to cut costs, increase profits and satisfy customers' needs in a challenging market.

The Cutting Edge Services business was created by current chairman David Mook, who saw a need in the market for a butchery knife-edge rental service after seeing a similar food service concept in the United States.  With the large processors suffering lower skill levels and high staff turnover, the knife service became a great success and other exclusive products and services were soon added.

Cutting Edge Services then acquired BRB and Packers UK to provide an all-encompassing portfolio of world leading and exclusive butchery equipment brands, consumable lines and food industry PPE to sit alongside its already growing sharp edge services.

David had previously taken ownership of and developed the very successful AMC Food Machinery business that supplied unique and exclusive skinning, derinding, trimming, deboning, tying, slicing and sanitising processing machinery to the meat and food industry.

Both businesses ran very successfully alongside each other for 10 years.

AMC Food Machinery was then merged into Cutting Edge Services in 2007 and this truly unique and combined business relocated to a 45,000 square foot purpose built office, technical centre and warehouse near Chorley, Lancashire.

The combined company has grown significantly since then and overall has enjoyed growth in all bar 2 years in over 20 years in a challenging market, with BSE and Foot and Mouth explaining the non-growth years.

New branding, identity and online purchasing followed in 2016 and with a very strong, experienced CES team in place, we continue to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction day in day out.
