Here at Cutting Edge Services, we are thrilled to announce we have been shortlisted for a staggering four BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards) - Lancashire’s largest business accolade scheme.
Following a successful written application and first stage interview, we are now finalists for the following BIBAs categories: Engineering Business of the Year, Medium Business of the Year, Business of the Year and Service Business of the Year. And while we were also nominated for the former three last year, the latter is a bonus nomination for 2019 - representing our commitment to continued growth and improvement in the food industry.
The BIBAs is an elite ceremony hosted by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, a business membership organization of which Cutting Edge Services is proudly a member. Our reasons for entering the awards are two-fold: we want to celebrate our triumph in technological innovation in food processing technology and we simultaneously wish to stay focussed as we strive for continous improvement.
Since its inception in 2006, the BIBAs has welcomed thousands of entries from a variety of businesses across Lancashire. It is designed to “drive growth, cultivate excellence and fuel innovation throughout the Lancashire economy, while nurturing the next generation of business leaders”. Winners of the awards will be enrolled onto the BIBAs academy which gives them access to several programme leadership masterclasses and growth workshops.
All finalists, including Cutting Edge Services, have since been subject to a site visit from BIBA judges as part of the next stage. During their tour of our headquarters, judges completed a comprehensive review of the business and assessed it for all four nominations. We now must wait until September when we will attend the awards ceremony at Blackpool Tower and realise our fate!
It comes after a phenomenal year for Cutting Edge Services. We have continued to invest in research and innovation, making continued improvements to our service in a bid to fulfill our mission of becoming a natural partner to the meat industry. Furthermore, we have developed new partnerships - most recently, with German manufacturer NOCK GmbH - which have allowed us to strengthen and diversify our services. And once again, we are sponsoring the Women in Meat awards as a way of showing our commitment to faciliating growth across this exciting industry. We are pioneers of change and we are thrilled to have had this recognised by an institute as respected as the BIBAs. We are also exceptionally proud to be standing beside our fellow finalists and celebrating entrepreneurship in Lancashire.
